Question:
Where do I find parts for a UNICO Chipper/Shredder?
Answers:
The Unico brand name was used by Universal Cooperatives. They had members throughout the USA for many years through the 60's, 70's and 80's. Unico memebers were mostly farm co-ops like Southern States Co-op, Landmark, Gold Kist, Tennessee Farmers Co-op, Western Farmers Co-op and others.
Unico chipper shredders were mostly made by MTD. Model numbers should be something like 6051-41, which is equal to an MTD model 244-650A 1974 model year chipper shredder. This model comes up if punched in to our MTD model cross reference on our website. The most commonly needed parts are flails (#11459), blades (#11458), mesh bags (#764-0199) and of course crankshafts.
